Emergency Management
The Emergency Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining an emergency management system to protect lives and property. This role involves coordinating with local, state, and federal agencies to prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies such as natural disasters and terrorism. They identify potential threats, plan for emergencies, and ensure first responders are well-prepared. Additionally, they advise local government officials on disaster matters, manage the county’s emergency management agency, and lead disaster response and recovery efforts, requiring strong leadership and organizational skills.
MISSION STATEMENT:
To provide leadership and support to reduce the loss of life and property and protect our county’s infrastructures from all types of hazards through a comprehensive, risk-based, all-hazards emergency management program of mitigation, preparedness , response and recovery.
